Today I want to talk about the promises of God that we find throughout the Bible and what they mean to us. In the book of Genesis chapter 17 we meet the man Abraham at 100 years being given a promise by God that he will have a child from his loins and he laughed because by the laws of this world and biology it is impossible but it came through because God is unlike men he does not lie or go back on his word . If he says something his word wont return to him empty handed without accomplishing what he sent it to do. Paul in the above letter to the Romans he tells us that he promises what he is capable to perfom so do not doubt the power of his word because the world we see and dont see came from the word. If he says it he will do it , his promises are always yes and Amen. I urge believers to be like the Bereans , to constantly study scripture and internalise it and when we find a promise like Daniel did we pray on it. Our prayers should consist of God’s words and less of ours for he is not moved by our massive vocabulary but by his word. Infact he elevated his word even above his name and we already know that the name was elevated above all such that at its mention all things will bow and confess to the kingship of Christ so imagine that which supercedes that….the word. In conclusion beloveds are urge us to be avid readers of the Bible and internalise all he said about you or your country and remind him of it in prayer like Daniel did. Amen
