“Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.” Romans 1:19
At the beginning of the year, I decided to revisit one of the most profound letters by the Apostle Paul, the book of Romans. I’ve always been mesmerized by the unparalleled wisdom displayed by the Apostle and as I go through the letter once again , I continue to be amazed by the depth of revelation and insight. The God that the Apostle Paul reveals in this letter is a God who desires to be known by all men and has revealed himself to men from time immemorial through nature and through the conscience of men . He has openly manifested the hidden things about himself through the things that he created. Nature itself is an expression of the splendor and magnanimity of the creator to the extent that no human being with the ability to interact with nature has any excuse of not glorifying the creator. He has made himself known to all of us through his creation. Even the most illiterate of men can experience him by just beholding the orderliness and the beauty of his creation.(….though he be not far from every one of us.”Acts 17:27)
The precise fine tuning of the systems of nature , Biological and physical, are a testament of the goodness and wisdom of God. The patriarch David would spend some time with the sheep in the wilderness beholding the beauty of nature , considering the stars and the galaxies which he called the works of the fingers of God, and he would write songs to glorify the maker.(When I consider thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast ordained.” Psalms 8:3).During his time , he only observed a small part of the universe and that connected him to the creator.
Now in the 21st century, through more advanced technology, we are able to observe a much bigger part of the ever expanding universe , the preciseness and the fine tuning of the Laws that control the universe , We have no excuse at all if we do not Glorify the creator.
(For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.” Romans 1:20)
We may not all see angels, have spiritual visions or other so called outstanding spiritual experiences but as long as we can see the sun, the moon , the trees , the animal and human life, it should always lead us back to the creator. We don’t have a right to doubt his presence in our lives when we are surrounded on every side by natural expressions of his goodness.
“Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.” Acts14:17)
Finally beloveds , as we navigate further into this new year, let us be more God conscious. We ought to recognize and acknowledge his goodness in everything around us. Our lives ought to continually glorify him. The natural things we may take for granted, such as the rain and fruitful seasons, the Apostle makes us to understand that they are a witness of God to the world. He is always there. During the gloomy days , always remember he is there, same as during the wonderful days.
Commit to him more, talk to him more often, study his word more often, love him more, glorify him more . This year of 2022, let him take CentreStage . ALWAYS BE GOD CONSCIOUS.
